Description

"Japan's diving tourism hotspot! Beautiful scenery  with convenient transportation, a chance to easily encounter the spectacular hammerhead shark shorm!"

It takes less than three hours to set off from Tokyo to enjoy a hammerhead shark storm with a high probability in the southern suburb of Izu. One of the world's rare and excellent diving secrets to watch hammerhead sharks is Mikomoto Island. Here, the mikimoto diving experience is exceptional, especially during the mikomoto hammerhead season when you have the best chances to see these magnificent creatures. The hammerhead sharks gather in warmer and shallow waters with the movement of the Kuroshio Current, so you can easily meet them!

For those interested in mikomoto island diving, a visit to the mikomoto dive shop can provide you with all the necessary equipment and guidance. You can find mikomoto divers who share their experiences and mikomoto hammers reviews to help you prepare for the adventure. If you're curious about how to get to Mikomoto Island, it's accessible and worth the trip for hammerhead diving Japan enthusiasts.

You can also choose to visit another hotspot—Kumomi Diving! Located on the western side of Izu, Kumomi boasts clear waters and rich marine ecology, allowing divers to explore vibrant fish and spectacular coral reefs. Additionally, the stunning coastline and natural rock formations are perfect for photography enthusiasts. After diving, you can relax in nearby hot springs and savor the fresh local seafood. Come to Kumomi and experience an unparalleled adventure beneath the waves, including mikimoto island diving and mikomoto hammer encounters, as well as a relaxing getaway!

*Divers must have logged dives within the last three months and have at least 50 dive experiences.

The city of Shimoda, which is only 160 meters away from Tokyo on the direct line and about three hours away by JR, is a resort destination on the Izu Peninsula, where flowers of all colors bloom in the warmth of the seasons under the control of the ocean, giving it a southern atmosphere unique to Tokyo.

Here every diver can see the awe-inspiring Hammerhead Shark storm in person.

In addition to the hammerhead shark storm, it is more common for migratory fish to appear collectively in 360 degrees like a wall. We believe every diver wants to encounter these experiences once!

Yellowtail schools, giant tuna, Eagle Ray, and Jackfish all come to feed near the waters of Kamijimoto Island. Even Makaira nigricans, the top predator, can be encountered if you are lucky enough.

In addition to diving, visitors can enjoy traditional Japanese hot springs and breathtaking views of Japan's sacred mountain, Mount Fuji, and neighboring spots.

At the beach in Kumomi, you can relax in the water while enjoying views of Mount Fuji!

After diving, enjoy the local natural scenery of Izu, book and taste the special sea bream, and then soak in the natural hot springs. Come and experience it yourself!
